John Mikel Obi was announced today as the Super Eagles Captain. The announcement was made by the former skipper, Ahmed Musa. The announcement was made in Kaduna today at the pre-match conference to the 2017 African Cup of Nation qualifier against Pharaoh of Egypt.
Musa said, “I want to announce now that from today, John Obi Mikel is our new captain.”
Mikel said, “I want to thank Ahmed Musa for being a wonderful professional. It takes a man to come out and do what he has done today. I commend him a lot.”
Mikel also told journalist present that is a huge honour to serve as their captain.
