TRAIN COLLIDES WITH A HILUX VAN IN PORTHARCOURT, NIGERIA.

TWO persons were seriously injured when a passenger train hit a Hilux van in Woji axis of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The incident had caused a lot of anxiety as residents of the area trooped out as a result of the deafening sound that resulted from the accident.

The train marked 2306 had rammed into the stationary Hilux van said to be owned by a Port Harcourt-based company as a result of the traffic jam along Woji road.
It was learnt that the train had taken off from Aba in Abia State around 5.30am while the accident occurred by 7am.
An eyewitness, who identified himself as John, said the bang made people to rush to the scene of the incident, adding that two persons, who were occupants of the Hilux van, were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital.
“Many feared that the train would trample on the Hilux van. Initially, we thought the Hilux belonged to the police; we were later told that it does not belong to the police. We thank God that no life was lost in the accident,” John said.
It was also gathered that the driver of the Hilux van had ignored an instruction of a traffic officer to stop for the train to pass.
It was in his attempt to cross to the other side of the road that the train came close and rammed into the van, pushing it about 80 metres away from the point of the first impact before it came to a halt.
An angry mob had moved in to beat up the driver of the Hilux van for refusing to obey the red flag raised by the traffic officer, but was saved by a group of policemen already on the ground.
Confirming the incident, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Nnamdi Omoni, told our correspondent that the traffic jam on Woji Road was to blame for the accident.
Omoni, who spoke in a telephone interview with our correspondent, further explained that two persons, who were injured were currently receiving treatment in a hospital.
“The accident, which occurred this morning was caused by traffic jam. Two persons, who were injured, are currently receiving treatment in the hospital.
“Contrary to speculations, the bashed Hilux van does not belong to the Nigeria Police Force. It belongs to a company in Rivers State,” the state police spokesman stressed.

POGBACK IS A RED DEVIL

French and former Juventus superstar Paul Pogba on Tuesday completed a sensational return to Manchester United for a reported world record fee.

Man United said Pogba had signed a five-year contract but did not give the cost which British media have put at 89 million pounds ($116.4 million, 105 million euros).

That would see the 23-year-old eclipse the 85 million pounds Real Madrid paid Tottenham Hotspur for Gareth Bale in 2013.
“This is the right club for me to achieve everything I hope to in the game,” said Pogba.

Pogba moved to Italy when United let him go for a nominal fee after his contract expired in 2012.
“I am delighted to rejoin United. It has always been a club with a special place in my heart and I am really looking forward to working with Jose Mourinho,” added Pogba.
United manager Mourinho has been tasked with bringing back the glory days to the 20-time English champions after three lean years since Alex Ferguson’s retirement.

“He has the chance to be at the heart of this club for the next decade and beyond,” said Mourinho.

“Paul is one of the best players in the world and will be a key part of the United team I want to build here for the future. He is quick, strong, scores goals and reads the game better than many players much older than he is.”

TWO WOMEN (SIXTY WOMEN IN TOTAL) ALLEGED MORE ASSAULTS ON BILL COSBY

It started with Kahlua and coffee, the woman said. Then, she said, Bill Cosby asked her a question: “Do you like back rubs or belly rubs?”

The setting was Cosby’s hotel room one night in the mid-1980s after the comedian had appeared at Clemson University, the woman said, according to court records. What allegedly came next follows a familiar pattern in the accusations against the iconic entertainer.

The woman, an anonymous Jane Doe accuser in a 2005 civil lawsuit against Cosby, said she rubbed Cosby’s belly. That’s when the story goes foggy.

The woman said she passed out. Her accusation, which has not previously been reported, adds to the mountain of publicly known allegations levelled against the 79-year-old as his case on charges of sexually assaulting a woman he was mentoring slogs through a Pennsylvania court. (Cosby and his attorneys have vigorously denied that he sexually assaulted any women.)

The newly surfaced accusations come from a woman known in the 2005 civil suit as Jane Doe No. 6, according to sources who declined to be identified because of ongoing legal cases. Her claim, as well as those of another woman, whom sources identified as Jane Doe No. 8, raises the total number of confirmed Cosby accusers catalogued by The Washington Post from 58 to 60.

Dozens of women have held news conferences or given media interviews to outline their accusations against Cosby, but others have chosen to remain anonymous, even as they have provided detailed accounts of their allegations to attorneys in civil suits or investigators.

Among those who have not spoken publicly are four of the 12 Jane Doe accusers who were prepared to testify in the civil lawsuit filed in 2005 against Cosby by Andrea Constand, a former Temple University women’s basketball official. The Post is publishing only the names of those who have spoken publicly about their allegations.

The Constand lawsuit ended in a confidential settlement. Cosby has now been criminally charged with sexually assaulting Constand.

The allegations of Jane Doe No. 8, a modeling agency booker, also date back to the mid-1980s. A friend of hers, a male model named Tony Hogue, said in an interview that she was frantic when she called him from Cosby’s Manhattan home late one night in 1984.

The woman, who’d been to dinner with Cosby and one of the models from her agency that night, pleaded with Hogue to come get them. She said her “clothes were messed up,” Hogue recalled, and she was “very uncomfortable” because Cosby was kissing and touching her.

Hogue said he initially suggested that his friend ask Cosby’s driver to take her to the apartment where she was staying. Her response unnerved him: “She said she couldn’t even really move.”

Hogue, who first gave an account of that evening to the Daily Beast, said he banged on Cosby’s door for a long time. Finally the comedian answered, he said, acting as though nothing was wrong. Hogue left with his friend and the model, a woman named Beth Ferrier, who would later become Jane Doe No. 5.

“They were such a mess that there wasn’t a lot of conversation,” he said.

During a deposition related to the civil lawsuit, Cosby said he did not know Jane Doe No. 6 or Jane Doe No. 8.

A Pennsylvania state judge has ruled that Cosby should stand trial in the case but no date has been set. A pretrial conference is slated for early September.

The accusers could play a significant role if the case goes to trial because Pennsylvania law allows testimony in sexual assault cases by other women who make similar allegations. Prosecutors have said Cosby drugged and sexually assaulted Constand at his suburban Philadelphia estate. Forty-one of the 60 accusations analyzed by The Post involve allegations of drugging.

In a sense, the Jane Does have been through a screening process because they were selected by Constand’s legal team as the 2005 civil lawsuit was being prepared.

“We were vetted,” one Jane Doe said in an interview on the condition of anonymity because of legal sensitivities associated with the ongoing criminal case. “We were chosen.”

There is so much hypocrisy/'fakeness' going on in this goddamn country it's incredible. As a nation, we have sacrificed patriotism on the altar of religion; looking at America, their patriotism supercedes religion, skin colour or economic background.

I was so tickled by some people's comments when I penned down my personal opinion on Pastor Adeboye's yarns as to what constitutes a good wife/husband.

Aside from the mass unemployment, ignorance and poverty that abounds, Naija I believe is the Genesis of this Pentecostal influence across Africa. I know that many would do anything to run away from the excruciating poverty my people are witnessing even if they have to speak in tongues and most Pastors are happily taking advantage of the situation.

There is God o!!

A lot of us have been brainwashed on how to worship God as some churches now come up with different gimmicks. It is not surprising to see people attend church rituals involving frantic falls as if grasped by epileptic seizures, forming attack by the spirits. Yes, most of these dramatics are paid for, like the Nollywood actor who claimed that the devil exited his body through his foot.

Now, some parents are praying for their sick children at home instead of seeking medical attention; or chaining children to enable the pastors cast out demons. Many women are caught having sex with pastors in corners or found spending more time catering to their pastors. How about husbands who have lost their wives totally to randy, horny and perverted pastors. Yes, what about the ones who can't hold down a marriage, when me wey dem talk say I dey craze, don collect 39 yrs for one woman hand. Kai. The list goes on.

I am not suggesting that all Men of God are tainted, but out of a hundred you may not find 4 that live what they preach, the rest are just taking advantage of our religious ignorance. Would it surprise you to know that I have read the Bible cover to cover over 20 times. So I know more than I make out! I know that true men of God do not misquote the Bible. It's only demons who misquote or misapply the Bible in some way. I know that God cannot punish us if we don't pay tithe to our church because it is the goodness of our hearts that interest God more than physical and financial disposition.

I know that true men of God cannot promise us happiness and prosperity, all of that is a fortune-teller's lie, there is nothing in the bible about any "medium" that God uses to deliver such blessing. When I was growing up, men of God were renowned for their simple lifestyles. They endured the hardships the natives suffered in a bid to impart in them the knowledge of Jesus Christ and the Word of God. The legacy of these humble men have since been overtaken by conmen seeking to get rich through donations and wayo tactics as they mesmerise and swindle unsuspecting religious Mugus.

Fake Christians should go and read Matthew 21:22 which says “And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive” .

This, like many other similar verses in the New Testament, clearly explains that a man must have no latent doubt in his heart but must have absolute trust in the power and good will of God. Meaning that it is not the Pastor's prayer that sets one free from spiritual bondages, but first and foremost one´s faith in Jesus Christ. Nowhere is it stated in the Bible that, prayers and miracles must be done in exchange for money, biko, because salvation is for free and for everyone. Our mumu never do?

It is unfortunate that while some churches minister to the spiritual, educational and economic needs of people, others use the same gospel fraudulently/intelligently to acquire wealth out of the destitution of the poor. Even more annoying are those who have the answers under their very noses, but who driven by these manipulations still abide blindly to such fake doctrines.

At the end of the day, I know that how a man chooses to worship his God is up to him. Worshippers are not forced to be followers in any of these churches; they follow some of these useless “men of God” of their own accord, thereby making the pastor's wealth acquisition fairly legal. However, Christians should always have this in the back of their minds. False Christians and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive.
