Dr. Ivy Umana of University of Uyo Teaching Hospital (UUTH) was murdered in cold blood at her residence by some unknown gun men, who were believed to be hired assassins in Shelter Afrique
Housing Estate, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
The 44-years old Dr. Umana until her death was the Head, Department Pathology, University of Uyo Teaching Hospital (UUTH).
The circumstances surrounding her death was still unknown at this time of filing, but several family sources said she was killed by unknown gunmen in her home.
A particular source said: “She (Dr. Umana) was living alone in her Shelter Afrique residence before her murder. We just heard that gunmen came to her house and killed her.”
The news has been confirmed by the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Cordelia Nwawe. She said two suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder.
