NIGERIAN ACCOUNTANT AND A PART TIME PASTORS BAGS NINE YEARS IN JAIL IN THE UK

Samuel Kayode, a Nigerian accountant and part-time pastor in the United Kingdom,  has been sentenced to nine years in prison for stealing £4.1million.
Kayode was sentenced on Friday by Woolwich Crown Court in South London for defrauding Haberdashers’ Aske’s state schools in the UK.

The part-time pastor, who earned £57, 000 per annum, was convicted after being found guilty of £150,000 theft and £3.95million fraud.
Out of the £4.1million, only £800, 000 was recovered from him.
Described as “dishonest” and “greedy”, the court heard how Kayode lavished the stolen money on four women, his wife, Grace; a second ‘wife’ in Nigeria, Olubunmi Halima; and two other women in the UK.
British prosecutor, James Thacker, said he also bought luxury cars including a Mercedes, an Audi TT sports car and an Infiniti car with the money.
The court also heard how for seven years the convict looted the accounts of Haberdashers. He was said to be secretive, locking himself in his office to work late, “after arriving in a Mercedes, wearing £500 Gucci shoes and carrying a Louis Vuitton briefcase.”
Thacker said the father of four from Ilford, East London, was too arrogant to admit his guilt even after he was caught red-handed in 2012.
Kayode tried to blame the crime on his late wife and a junior colleague, saying that they conspired to tarnish his image by transferring the money to his account in revenge for his adultery.
His crime was exposed when a school cleaner stumbled across some of Kayode’s documents. The cleaner was said to make an anonymous call to the schools’ Chief Finance Officer, Yvonne Smithers.
The accounts manager started work at Haberdashers’ – which has links with the public schools of the same name – in 1997.
According to the prosecutor, Kayode started using the BACS money transfer system (a system in the UK for making payments directly from one bank account to another)  in 2006, to put “tens of thousands at a time directly into a joint account held with wife Grace. He then spent up to £98,000 a month.”
Apart from spending money on his wife’s health care until her death in 2013, Kayode also signed documents showing he was making investments with Halima, and renting flats in Kent for ‘partners’ Toyin Lawal and Yetunde Turtak.

CHERUBIM AND SERAPHIM FOUNDER IS AN OGBONI CONFRATERNITY AND A CAN ASSOCIATE

In this interview with SUN,  a 65 year popular pastor, Solomon Oladimeji, who is founder of Cherubim and Seraphim Church, Orisun-Ayo, with branches at Alapere, Ketu, and Odogunyan in Ikorodu area of Lagos, has confessed to being a member of the Ogboni confraternity and  also a member of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN)
Oladimeji says that there is no stigma that should be associated with the cult which is rumoured to be a gathering of evil doers by most Nigerians.

This are excerpts from his interview:

When did you become a member of the Ogboni, and what were the circumstances that prompted you to be a member?
Although, my journey as shepherd for Jesus Christ’s flock is over 40 years, I became a member of theOgboni society over 20 years ago. Initially, I was initiated into the Aborigine Ogboni fraternity, that is the one they call Ogboni Ibile, but later I joined Saala Ogboni fraternity, and since I made that decision, I have no regret.
As a member of Ogboni fraternity, my life is having a meaning. I have prospered. My coast has been enlarged. Members of my congregation are increasing everyday. I also thank God that due to my diligence as a committed member, I have been able to rise to the enviable position of Oluwo within the Ogboni fraternity.
Are your members, that is members of your church aware that you belong to Ogboni fraternity?
What is there to be hidden? I am not ashamed of my association with Ogboni Society, and I don’t hide it from members of my church. They all know that I’m a leader in the Ogboni group. When you even come to my house, I openly display my regalia as Ogboni chief. Let me quickly tell you this, by making my members know that I’m Ogboni member, it makes me popular among them. They describe me as an open and honest person. For that, many of them have been voluntarily coming to me pleading to be initiated as a member of Ogboni fraternity.
Some people would think that you use charms on them?
Why should I use charm on them or to charm them as some people will say? God forbid. I’m a child of light; darkness or anything evil has no place in my life or church. Your member will like you, when they know that the power you are using to solve their problems is power from Jesus Christ, my Lord and Saviour. I have never committed evil in my life and I will never do so till the day my Lord calls me home.
Are you saying that charm doesn’t exist?
No. I’m not saying so. Charms do exist, but it depends on how you use it. I used herbs and leaves combined with other items to prepare soap, anointing oil for members and other people that are having spiritual problems.
It is unfortunate that today a lot of Christians are suffering out of ignorance. You see some saying it is what my pastor or what my prophet tells me I believe. I will never use any soap, cream, oil by just any minister of God, but only if those members know what those pastors are doing.
Some of these pastors and prophets come to people like me to acquire power to perform miracle and wonders. Some of them are even Ogboni members like me. But they are hypocrites. I will never deny somebody who is my benefactor, and that is why you see me wearing and displaying beads and other items being used by Ogboni fraternity. To me, what matters again is saving life, and it doesn’t matter where you get saved whether it is in the house of babalawo or any juju priest. We are all calling on the name of the same God.
In my neighbourhood, both at Alapere and Odogunyan, many residents know me both as a cleric andOgboni leader. In fact, Baale of Odogunyan, that is the community leader, knows me as the Oluwo ofSaala Ogboni. I’m highly respected in the community. I joined the Ogboni fraternity because I like their ways of life. They are decent people. Contrary to misconception some people have about Ogboni, that we are evil people. Far from it, rather I will say that Ogboni members are not only children of Light, but we are also messengers of the Most High God because, we don’t kill but only save lives.
But some people believe that Ogboni is evil, and that it is an evil association condemned by the Bible.
Those who say so are ignorant. They have been brainwashed by our colonial masters. But thank God, we are now in a different era, and we can all be reading the Bible without relying or depending on what the imperialist swould want us to believe in order to suit their own purpose. Some will tell you that Ogboniis evil because they use juju, they still carry out sacrifices of various forms by shedding blood of animals, and birds. Some even out of ignorance say we eat human flesh. Rubbish. May Almighty God forgive our traducers.
If you are talking about sacrifice, where did the Bible condemn sacrifice? Let our accusers point it out either in the old or the New Testament. Throughout my years at the seminary and the Bible school, I never come across such.
Then the sacrifice you are talking about, on several occasion especially in the Old Testament, sacrifices were carried out to atone for the sins of the Israelites.
It was also often carried out when the children of Israel were looking for one favour or another.
But coming down to the New Testament, don’t mind those confusionists who say that Jesus Christ, my own Lord and Saviour condemns sacrifice, what a big lie. If you can still remember when Jesus Christ himself was born the day His parents Joseph and Mary were taking Him to the Synagogue, Joseph has to sacrifice doves, and pigeon. He took the birds to the church. You can read in the book of Matthew and Luke.
So, if the parents of Jesus, my Master, the Author and Finisher of my Faith were involved in sacrifice, why would I say I want to distance myself from such?
Again, they accused us pastors of asking some people that have problems to go and bathe in a running stream, what is wrong with that, did such not happen in the Bible? Have we forgotten the story of Naman, the Syrian Army General who had leprosy and was looking for a cure, how Prophet Elisha asked him to go bathe inside River Jordan, and Naman was healed after complying with the prophet’s instruction, and this is why I said some people are dying due to ignorance.
Sacrifice is biblically ordained. I sacrificed animals and birds to offer prayers to cure and heal people of their ailments.
When I pray for you and it is revealed to me that I should kill duck, cow or even goat to offer prayers for you, I will tell you to make available such animals for sacrifice, and the moment we do that, you receive your healing.
When I kill fowl, goat, duck or even cow for sacrifice to heal somebody, I have not in any way transgressed. I’m only doing the will of Jesus Christ, who is my personal Lord and Saviour. Whatever is outside the Bible, you will never see me doing it.
Even in the book of Revelation, the use of leaves and herbs was recommended for healing. And for those who describe Ogboni fraternity as a cult, this is wrong. Ogboni is a society. We are transparent and honest people. Ogboni abhors evil. We are organized and disciplined. A cult is a group of people involved in secrecy, we are open to scrutiny. Let those who out of hearsay say evil about Ogboni be bold and come to our meeting and see whether it is true that we drink blood.
All those pastors saying rubbish about Ogboni are doing so to attract membership.

You say you sacrifice animals, if that is what is needed for someone’s prayers to be answered, but the Bible says Jesus has done that by His death, are you not going against the Bible?
Far from it! Whatever I do as Ogboni Pastor is biblically ordained and inspired. If you read your New Testament very well, Apostle Paul who is regarded as one of the most dynamic evangelists of his era says that without shedding blood, that there is no redemption. Am I the one that put that in the Bible? Even when Jesus Christ was about to be dedicated, His parents, Joseph and Mary took pigeons and doves to the church which were slaughtered as a sacrifice.
You also read in several other places both in the Old and New Testament where blood sacrifice took place. You remember the case of Cain and Abel. I even read Bible before I carry out this killing of animals as sacrifice in order to save souls

LEO MESSI QUITS INTERNATIONAL FOOTBALL

Leo Messi announced his retirement from international football after losing the Copa America final back to
back against Chile. Barcelona are said to be delighted about the news while their is sadness in his country, Argentina.
“Messi has won everything with Barcelona’’ said Diario Sport columnist Lluis Mascaro under the headline: “Messi has seen the light – Argentina will never be Barcelona.’’

Barcelona have thrived with Messi in the team, winning 28 trophies including eight leagues, four Champions Leagues and three World Club Cups.
Seeing him win titles with Barcelona has only made it more difficult for Argentine supporters to understand the national side’s failing with him in the team.
But Argentina’s loss continues to be Barcelona’s gain and Sport continued: “He is abandoning the Argentina team to concentrate on what really makes him happy which is winning trophies with Barcelona.’’
The fact that he will now be able to focus all his attention on winning with his club team will be bad news for Real Madrid, and the capital-based press reacted differently to his decision.
Marca preferred to focus on a Twitter campaign #NoTeVayasLeo (Don’t go Leo) which was gathering pace on Monday as supporters woke up to the reality that their best player had called time on his international career.
That was not the only internet campaign running in the aftermath of another big tournament final defeat. Many supporters were urging Gerardo Martino be replaced by Diego Simeone as coach.
The current Argentina coach is due to meet with the Argentine Football Association on Tuesday to plan for Rio 2016.
But if he does leave his post after the Olympics the first job of his replacement will be to stop an exodus of top stars.
Messi was not the only player planning to walk away after the defeat on penalties to Chile.
Javier Mascherano, Gonzalo Higuain and Sergio Aguero were all considering their international futures.
Aguero said on Sunday night: “There are various players from the squad considering not continuing. We are sad for Leo. He did everything he could to give us victory. He will go on being the best there is.’’
Messi missed his penalty shot in a shootout against Chile, allowing the defending champions to lift the Copa America Centenario trophy, and once the match was over Messi wept on the football pitch.
It was clearly too much to take for the man whom many consider to be the best footballer in history.
“The national team is over for me,’’ he told Argentina’s TyC sports TV channel after the game.
“It hurts me more than anyone not to be able to win a title with Argentina, but that’s how it is. It didn’t happen and unfortunately I leave without achieving it,’’ he said.
At MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, Messi failed once again to overcome something that felt almost like a curse.
He was unable to lead Argentina to victory in the Copa America final, just like in the decisive games of the 2014 World Cup and 2015 Copa America, and in the 2007 Copa America final when he was much younger.
To make matters worse, he missed his own shot in the shootout this time around.
“What happened to us again makes me really sad, and on top of everything I miss my own penalty shot. They had missed the first one, and it was really important to convert it to take the lead,’’ he said.
All his efforts, and his impressive performances in the run-up to the final, were again in vain after the decisive game.
Those three finals will stain the record of a player who has won everything with his club, Barcelona, and individually. They also clearly took a major psychological toll.
“This is the worst I have seen him in the changing room,’’ said fellow striker Sergio Aguero, Messi’s Argentina room-mate and close friend.
Many Argentinians have slammed Messi for failing to produce with the national team the kinds of performances that earned him the Ballon d’Or in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2015.
More recently, fans in the football-crazy country have come to appreciate his unwavering efforts, but the results remain the same.
“Playing two finals in a row, not winning them and having the chance to play another one, now we all want to win it,’’ Messi had said ahead of the game. “Winning is what matters now.’’
The Copa America Centenario saw Messi become the top scorer of all time for Argentina, with 55 goals, surpassing Gabriel Batistuta.
He scored a hat-trick in less than 30 minutes against Panama, and two brilliant free kicks against Venezuela and the U.S.
However, he could not shake off Chile’s diligent pressure. He had to drop too far back and depended on fellow strikers Gonzalo Higuain and Sergio Aguero to actually net the ball.
Both came close, but the 120 minutes of play ended without a goal.
Argentina’s third defeat in a final in barely two years had the aura of an epic failure. Messi’s decision to step down from the national team turned it almost into a catastrophe.
At the Copa America Centenario, Messi had taken on a more mature role as team spokesman. The striker, who turned 29 on Friday, grew a thick beard in line with his new take on the captaincy.
He arrived in the U.S., after travelling 30,000 kilometres in a few days, so he could train with Argentina, appear before a Spanish court where he faced tax evasion charges, and return to be with his team-mates.
He suffered a tough blow to his back in a friendly, but worked hard on his recovery.
Messi had said that not winning the Copa America Centenario would be `disappointing,’ but his tears and his decision after the game made the massive understatement clear.
The pain caused by a string of key defeats might take its toll on the will of players beyond Messi to remain available for the national team.
“It’s likely that Messi won’t be the only one to leave the national team. Several of us are considering not continuing to play [with Argentina],’’ Aguero said.
Javier Mascherano and Gonzalo Higuain have already made the decision to retire from international duty, media reports said.

HIGH COURT IN ABUJA SACKS GOV IKPEAZU OF ABIA STATE

A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the Governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu, to vacate office immediately for submitting false information to his party, the Peoples Democratic Party, for the party’s governorship primary in December 2014.

ENGLAND INTERNATIONAL JERMAINE PENNANT MOCKED ON TWITTER AFTER DISPLAYING HIS LEVEL OF ILLITRACY

Footballer Jermaine Pennant caused a stir when he asked what Brexit  meant for England's participation in 'Euros 2018'.
He wrote: 'Now are not in Europe what's going to happen with the next euros 2018??? #eu'.

The former Arsenal and Liverpool star was mocked mercilessly after he asked whether leaving the EU could herald the end of England's role in the tournament. The ex-Liverpool player got his dates muddled up - saying the competition would take place in 2018, instead of 2020.
It wasn't long before Twitter pointed out his two mistakes: that the competition will take place in 2018, and that the UK has voted out of the EU, not the entire European continent.
The footballer then deleted the tweet, before responding that it was 'jokes' and describing the mistake as an 'absolute minor'.

In 2011 Pennant hit the headlines after leaving his Porsche at a Spanish train station for three weeks – starting a story that he’s so rich, he simply forgot he owned the supercar.
The UEFA European championship is known as the Euros. It takes place every four years, and is currently taking place in France.
England are due to play Iceland on Monday in the last 16 of the competition.

REUBEN ABATI DISSED BEN MURRAY BRUCE AAND GOVERNOR FAYOSE IN NEW ARTICLE (THE GAME HAS CHANGED)

“My brother, I think all the people saying they have not seen any change should by now be convinced that truly, truly, the game has changed.”
“Football? Euro 2016? Brexit?”

“What is wrong with you?”
“Or may be you are talking about the death of Stephen Keshi and Shuaibu Amodu and the fact that Nigeria’s House of Football needs to be re-organized”
“I really don’t know what the matter is with you today. I always try to engage you in a conversation because I consider you smart, but your responses don’t make sense to me.”
“Game change. Well. I studied a bit of game theory in school not as a student of political science but as a generally curious student.”
“Who is talking about game theory?”
“Game theory is about political marketing, the relation between structure and agents, how power is deployed, structuration, the framework of power, the politics of structural and collective agency.”
“When you are tired of boring yourself, you will keep quiet. I am just saying the game has changed in Nigeria. I guess that is simple enough so stop quoting text books.”
“Ha, I get you now. I recall that the former Chairman of the PDP, during the election was snick-named the game-changer. Everywhere he went everyone said game-changer!”
“If you are dumb, or pretending to be dumb, good for you. I am talking about today’s Nigeria, you are talking about the past. Can’t you see, don’t you hear, don’t you feel it, that indeed, contrary to what we used to think, something indeed has changed…”
“Tell me.”
“Me? You mean I, me, myself?”
“What is that?”
“If you mean I, me, myself, I have nothing to say. And please note that because the times have changed, I have developed all kinds of problems with my senses.”
“Then you should go to London for treatment.”
“God punish you for saying that. Do you want to put my family in trouble? I forbid you to talk carelessly anywhere I am. If you are looking for trouble, go and look for it on your own. My mid-year resolution is that I will not hear any evil, speak any evil and see no evil.”
“Is that your game that has changed?”
“Na you sabi?”
“I think your problem is that you are afraid. You are just like all these other people who have forgotten that there is a Freedom of information Law in this country”
“Hen hen. Who in this country has any law helped to put food on the table for his family? This man, be careful.”
“Feel free. Let’s analyze recent developments in the country.”
“As in…”
“The floating of the Naira”
“The Naira is floating eh. Good. So how many Nigerians have gone to the lagoon to pick up Naira free of charge, since the Naira started floating?”
“There is just one market now. “
“Hun hun.”
“Say something man. You are usually very intelligent and vocal.”
“I hear”
“Fayose, the Ekiti Governor and Ben Murray Bruce commented on this matter.”
“I am warning you, the way you are putting your hands in my mouth, I will call my wife to warn you to stay away from me henceforth.”
“What has your wife got to do with this?”
“Because you want to put our God-loving family in trouble.”
“Because you don’t want to talk critically about public issues?”
“You can say what you like?”
“Look at the Fayose issue. Even Zenith Bank like you is scared. They have disowned Fayose. Everybody today is sucking up and bootlicking. I hope someone will tell Zenith Bank and other banks that they all failed in their fiduciary responsibilities. The rule of banking says KYC: Know Your Customer. You can’t use ojukokoro to collect money and then turn around to say you don’t know. I also think a bank has a responsibility to report unusual transactions, the moment it happens not ex post facto.”
“Well done”.
“And as for Ben Murray Bruce, the commonsense Senator. You can’t borrow money and start behaving as if you have more sense than your creditor.”
“This man. What is wrong with you? You are also a businessman and you once told me you are terribly exposed financially. Talk with some sense. If AMCON takes over every company, they will add to the unemployment crisis in the country and punish innocent people. AMCON is taking over too many companies. Fact. ”
“I am talking sense”
“And I am saying these times we are in requires more than commonsense. It requires uncommon sense, tact and intellect, and a proper understanding of nonsense because what you call commonsense will just get you into trouble.”
“Ok, tell me”
“No comment. In this matter, I have neither sense, commonsense or uncommon sense.”
“I see. I see. The game has changed truly. Everybody with sense, even small sense is beginning to shut up and shut down. Tragic”
“Who has sense helped? The game has changed…I will not join you to say I have sense.”
“I am beginning to suspect you.”
“I will call your wife and ask her to advise you to avoid satanic conversations anytime you are with me.”
“You?”
“Yes. Me.”
“We cannot keep silent. This country belongs to all of us.”
“Good for you.
“We must talk, talk, and talk, on twitter, on instagram, on television, on the pages of newspapers.”
“Yes. Yes. Yes. And your wahala when it comes will also be televised, twitterised, instagramised, and newspaperized. You better borrow yourself uncommon sense.”
“Like Zenith Bank hen?”
“I think you should start going home now.”
“I also hear some militants are claiming that they are being instigated to continue pipeline vandalism and organize against the state.”
“Nobody is organizing anything in my house. Come, how has my wife wronged you, that you want to bring calamity to our household?”
“It s our job to criticize public affairs.”
“It is our job to support government, so that when government succeeds, we too can succeed.”
“From your mouth?”
“Honestly, from my mouth.”
“Now, I am beginning to understand.”
“Understand whatever you want. Change is here. Have you not heard that in Cameroon, the parliament is debating a bill that makes adultery a crime. The deal is to have you spend between two and six months in the senior college if you go do napoi anyhow, so it is better to be careful and to control.
“I know some napoi people in Nigeria.”
“Like you, yourself?”
“We know who the adulterers are. Like the National Assembly people who are now in court for forgery. You commit political adultery, you run a risk.”
“This man, can you shut up? Stop talking like this at a pepper soup joint. Do you know who and who is eavesdropping on us?”
“With this loud music and with the way everybody is busy with pepper soup and isi ewu?”
“Just shut the hell up.”
“Iyalaya anybody who wants to rob me of commonsense.”
“You too have changed.”
“Iyalaya change”
“Just shut the f*ck up”
“So life is like this?”
“Life is like what”
“If anybody told me”
“That the iyalaya of social critics will face moving trailer.”
“That you will sound like this”
“At an open joint, with drunken souls eating pepper soup and half crazy? I have told you, whenever you want to hear sense from my mouth, choose a different location.“
“Truth is not selective. It should thunder forth from everywhere no matter whose ox is gored”
“Gore your own ox, leave us out of it. As for me and my house, we shall support change.”
“This is a loser’s creed. The sacrament of the defeated.”
“You will still go and blow this your grammar in a cell, very soon. And you’d be surprised if I am asked to testify against you, I will gladly wear a mask and do so.”
“Me?”
“Yes, you. You can’t make me guilty by association”
“What kind of life is this oh?”
“What kind of stupid man is this oh?”
“Like seriously?”
“Like I know suicide is bad, even God forbids it.”
“As in…”
“Can we change this subject? Ha ha, wetin? Stop putting your isi ewu hands in my mouth.”
“What a country? What manner of a citizen? With people like you, democracy is on trial.”
“Forget matter. Even in America democracy is on trial. Even in Britain, right now democracy is on trial.”
“Power is dangerous. Powerlessness is worse.”
“When you use power to serve your purpose, everybody will know where they belong. As you see me so, I won’t discuss power at a pepper soup joint.”
“What of on Twitter?”
“Twitter? So I can get into trouble?”
“But you have a twitter account?”
“I have deleted it to avoid temptations.”
“You have indeed changed”
“I have oh”
“You have lost your power of expression”
“It is better oh”
“You have become gentle”
“Look for a stronger word, please”
“You have lost your caustic tongue”
“My tongue still dey kampe, but I am intelligent enough to use it now only on ponmo and cow leg.”
“Change”
“Go and ask the people who refused to change.”
“Human beings are chameleons”
“Can you get off my back? Oya, take the pepper soup and finish it. You can’t because you are paying for cheap pepper soup force me into trouble. Take your pepper soup. I am out of here.”
“Na fight? Finish your pepper soup.”
“I don’t want. You finish the rest or look for another mumu like you to finish it. This is amazing”
“Amazing as in the spread of mumuism. Go to Zenith Bank.”
“I can only wish you good luck”
“Same to you. Chop your pepper soup finish.”
“No”
“Next time, I’ll talk to that your Ph.D friend and report you to him. He should be more sensible”
“Hmm. Carry your wahala go. Who sense don epp?”
“Happy International Widows Day”
“Say that to your wife. She needs it. Yeye man”

AN FEMALE ARTISTE WHO ALLOWED STRANGERS TO FONDLED HER GENITALS FOR 30SECONDS

A certain Ms Moire who invited complete strangers to fondle her genitals in public has been arrested in Trafalgar Square. During her performance, Ms Moire allowed passers-by over the age of 18 to touch her breasts or genitals for thirty seconds.
The controversial performer Milo Moire had been travelling Europe for her new 'Mirror Box' show, which is designed to promote women's right to not be touched.
Her performance has taken place in Dusseldorf and Amsterdam, but she ran out of luck when she took her art to Trafalgar Square, in London, she fell foul of the law.

"I was in Trafalgar Square and the police came and told me what I was doing was against the law and I had to come with them to the police station.I was there for 24 hours; first in one station then another with the court where I ended up having to pay a hefty fine.
"It was not nice to be in jail.I tried to explain to them the performance I was doing. The first detectives who interviewed me were women and they said they understood.
"But their chief constable did not."

Ms Moire continued by saying her treatment highlights different approaches in Europe.
"In Amsterdam it was very different - they are more free towards sexuality.
"But in London it was more strict - too strict I think. They don't understand this form of performance."

She claims that before her arrest, her audience in Trafalgar Square were responding well.
It was very interesting to see many women, who were there for a long time watching and seemed interested," she said.
"I can't look around all the time - I have to concentrate because it could be dangerous for me.
"But I got the feeling people were interested.
"Then some mothers called the police I think because they felt offended.
"It won't stop me. It is a risk, but it is a risk I am willing to take."
Speaking before the show, she said: "I am standing here today for women’s rights and sexual self-determination.
"Women have a sexuality, just like men have one

However, women decide for themselves when and how they want to be touched and when they don’t.
"Today, you have the chance to touch the box for thirty seconds and feel free. It doesn't matter if you're a woman or a man."

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "Police were called to Trafalgar Square at 6:25pm on Sunday, June 5, after a member of the public complained about the behaviour of a woman in the area.
Officers arrived and arrested a man and woman on suspicion of outraging public decency." He added the woman was charged with outraging public decency; the man was released no further action.

NUHU RIBADU: I ALMOST ARRESTED AISHA BUHARI

Former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nuhu Ribadu, said that during his tenure as the chairman of EFCC, the commission almost arrested the Aisha Buhari who was involved in the Halliburton scandal.

He stated that the actual Aisha Buhari was involved in soiling the name of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Ribadu stated that if Nigerian authorities wanted to know about the details of the case, her real identity could be easily established as she recently renewed her passport at the Nigeria embassy in Washington and they should still have a file on her.
Ribadu said: “She is a different person and has lived in the US for years. She is hardly in Nigeria.
“The EFCC was working with US authorities on the investigations. One of my plans was to arrest her before I left the commission. Our suspicion then was that she was using the Buhari name for influence.
“The EFCC laid ambush to see if she would come into the country so she could be arrested. I didn’t know what happened to the plan to arrest her after I left.”

19 YEAR ATTEMPTED MURDER OF DONALD TRUMP

Police in America arrested a 19-year-old after he attempted to pull a police officer's gun from its holster inside a Las Vegas theater where Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee, was holding a campaign rally.
Police said Michael Sandford, a Briton, struck up a conversation with a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officer under the pretense that he was seeking to get an autograph.

During the conversation, police said Sandford tried to pull the officer's service weapon from its holster.
Other officers also assigned to provide security at the event were quickly able to detain Sandford and authorities said there was no further disruption to the event.
Sandford told police that he drove to Las Vegas from California "to kill Trump," according to the complaint, after hearing a few days earlier in the news that he was expected there.
He was in the country illegally, his visa having expired.
On June 17, he practiced shooting a gun for the first time at a gun range in Las Vegas.
"(Sandford) further stated that if he were on the street tomorrow, he would try this again," reads the complaint, obtained by CNN. "Sandford claimed he had been planning to kill Trump for about a year but decided to act on this occasion because he finally felt confident about trying it."

POLICE OFFICER BEING BATH WITH HOT SOUP

An Ado Ekiti Chief Magistrate’s Court has remanded a 33-year-old man, Imole Emmanuel, in prison custody for allegedly pouring hot soup on a police corporal, Kayode Akingbade.
Emmanuel was arraigned on counts of assault and conduct likely to cause a breach of the public peace.
It was learnt that he also attempted to snatch the corporal’s rifle.

A team of policemen was said to be on surveillance around the Baptist College, Ilawe Road, when one of them asked the suspect to leave the area in order for them to carry out their operation.
Akingbade was said to have gone to a canteen to eat about 30 minutes later only for the suspect to trace him there and pour hot soup on him.
At the sitting held on Monday, the police prosecutor, Bankole Olasunkanmi, prayed the court for a short adjournment to enable him to study the case file and assemble his witnesses.
Moving a bail application, the defence counsel, Gbenga Alabadan, urged the court to grant the accused person bail, saying that he remained innocent until the contrary was proved in court.
But the Chief Magistrate, Idowu Ayenimo, said the defence did not justify the bail application.
Ayenimo thereafter ordered the defence to approach the court with a written bail application for the accused.
He ordered the accused to be remanded in prison custody and adjourned the case till July 7.
The charge sheet partly reads, “That you, Emmanuel Imole, on June 13, 2016, at about 5.30pm at Baptist junction, Ilawe Road, Ado Ekiti, in the Ado Ekiti Magisterial District, did threaten with violence, one Corporal Kayode Akingbade attached to the New Iyin Road Police Station, Ado Ekiti, by pouring hot stew on his face and police uniform before trying to struggle for his rifle, thereby committing an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 86 (1) of the Criminal Code Cap C16 Vol. 1, Laws of Ekiti State of Nigeria 2012.
“That you, Emmanuel Imole, on the same date, time and place in the aforesaid magisterial district, did conduct yourself in a manner likely to cause a breach of the peace by pouring hot stew on Akingbade’s face and his police uniform, thereby committing an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 249 (d) of the Criminal Code Cap C16 Vol. 1, Laws of Ekiti State Nigeria 2012.”

STUDY REVEALS THAT YORUBA AND IGBO ARE GENETICALLY RELATED

Four of the major coastal tribes of Western Africa: the Yoruba, Igbo, Akan and the Gaa-Adangbe are dissimilar at a glance and evidently geographic neighbours, but very closely related, if examined in detail at the genetic level.

Several studies have been employed over the years, with findings bringing up linkages of genetic similarity between differing regional ethnic groups. One in particular, conducted by Adebowale Adeyemo, Guanjie Chen, Yuanxiu Chen, the National Human Genome Centre and Howard University, and Charles Rotimi of the University of Ibadan provided results indicating the genetic similarities between the four major West African ethnic groups.
Their findings further indicated surprising genetic variance within groups, but almost none across groups, similar to the closeness of human genetics across races, showing more range within than without.
According to this landmark study there was 99.9 percent within-population variance, the between-population variance was less than 0.1 percent. This means that Yorubas, Igbos, Gaa and Akan are 99.9 percent similar, while within each of the groups there are variations/differences between individuals as high as 99 percent i.e. One Igbo may be 99 percent genetically different from another Igbo, or one Yoruba person to another.
It is important to remember that these groups were not initially split by national borders; prior to the European division of the continent, these ethnic peoples traded, migrated and wedded as the times permitted, allowing apparent regional and national mixtures that remain evident in modern day genetic analyses of some Yoruba and Igbo individuals.
Race and ethnicity are considered to be related concepts. Ethnicity is often assumed to be somewhat more of a cultural identity of a group, often based on shared ancestry, language and cultural tradition, while race is assumed to be strictly a biological classification, based on genetic materials and bone structure. Ethnicity is often used synonymously with ambiguous terms such as nation or people, depending on which source of group identity is emphasized to define membership, the following types of (often mutually overlapping) groups are:
Ethno-linguistic, emphasizing shared language, dialect or script — example: Hausa.
Ethno-national, emphasizing a shared polity or sense of national identity — example: Nigerian.
Ethno-racial, emphasizing shared physical appearance based on genetic origins — example: African-American.
Ethno-regional, emphasizing a distinct local sense of belonging stemming from relative geographic isolation — example: South Islanders.
Ethno-religious, emphasizing shared affiliation with a particular religion, denomination or sect — example: Christians.
Also worthy of note is the shared Volta-Niger root languages, Yoruba and Igbo languages belong to the same family (YEAI branch), showing the common start of the diverse languages spoken by these ethnicities.
Consequently, barring the inclusion of culture, tribal affiliation and nationality, it could be said that the the Yorubas, the Igbos, the Akans and the Gaa-Adangbes are but a people spread over a wide area with different ways of life. Thus discrediting any claim of a unique Yoruba “race” or a genetically insured Igbo ethnicity often employed by politicians and traditional rulers in rhetorics and propaganda messages.
The reality, however, is the hampered economic strength of a not truly united front, with success delayed continually by the lack of pan-African sentiments on the part of the leadership, and poor economic decisions taken in an imperialist system. This is not to revile the revered skin deep differences in each group’s cultural development, but serves to indicate and rejoice in the underlying sameness of what appears ‘not’ to be.
A body does not fight itself. These kinds of research serve as a balm to the much divided heart of the ethnically-concerned West African, and to the African at large: one root, many branches; united by blood if not spirit.

NIGERIAN MAN RAPES AND IMPREGNATE HIS 15 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a man, Ike Iwuanyanwu, for allegedly raping and impregnating his 15-year-old daughter, Priscilla (pseudonym) at Ajao Estate, in the Isolo area of the state.
Iwuanyanwu, who was a company driver living on Anuoluwapo Street in the estate, was arrested on Wednesday after the matter was reported at the Ajao Estate Police Division.
It was learnt that the victim had been taken into custody by the Lagos State Government.

Iwuanyanwu was also alleged to have beaten his daughter and wife, warning them not to disclose the incident to anyone.
It was learnt that Priscilla’s mother, however, informed her family members on Wednesday, who went to the girl’s school to confirm the story from her.
The case was thereafter reported to the state Ministry of Youth and Social Development, which informed the police.
A neighbour of the Iwuanyanwus, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the victim was the first child of the family, adding that the father had allegedly confessed to the crime.
She said, “The man is a driver and the girl is his first child. None of us knew anything about the incident until he was arrested. The only thing we saw was that the man beat up his wife and daughter late in the night on Tuesday.
“The girl was pregnant and the father tried to hide it. It was her school that informed the Lagos State Government.
“The girl confessed that it was her father who raped and impregnated her. The Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development alerted the police and the man was arrested.
“The suspect did not deny that he impregnated the girl. He knew the government was involved and he had no hiding place. We learnt he told the police that his wife did not allow him to have sex with her and he yielded to the temptation of raping his daughter.
“The girl’s mother told her family members, who then went to her school. They did not know the school authorities would get the ministry involved. The matter was also reported to some child rights workers in the Oshodi area.”
Our correspondent learnt that Priscilla’s mother allegedly took the 15-year-old to a place where the pregnancy was aborted.
The pregnancy was said to have been aborted before she was rescued and taken into custody by government officials.
It was garnered that the police arrested Priscilla’s mother on Thursday for involvement in the alleged abortion.
The Coordinator, Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Team, Lagos State, Lola Vivour-Adeniyi, said the victim was safe in government’s custody.
She said, “Social workers have rescued the victim. She is now at an orphanage provided by the state government. We have also called for the duplicate case file. The girl’s mother was arrested for allegedly aborting the pregnancy. The police may grant her bail on the grounds that she has a four-year-old boy.”
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, confirmed the incident, adding that investigation was ongoing.
She said, “The man raped and impregnated his daughter, while the mother also procured abortion for her. The Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, has ordered that the case be transferred to the gender unit of the command for investigation. The girl is placed in a shelter because we cannot afford to see her go back to that vicinity.”

WHY WOULD DONALD TRUMP DO THIS?

Actor Charlie Sheen said on the Graham Norton Show that aspiring American president, Donald Trump tried to impress him with an improvised  and worthless  wedding gift.
The actor said Donald Trump came up to him at a restaurant where he was having dinner with his then-wife Brooke Mueller and offered him fake jewelry as a present.

'I noticed Donald staring at my watch. He says, "I want to give you an early wedding gift from me and Melania,"' So he says, "These are platinum diamond Harry Winston," and he pulls off his cuff links and he gives them to me.'
Months later, when Sheen had the jewelry appraised, he said an expert found the cuff links to be utterly worthless.

'[The appraiser] took the loupe, spent about four seconds and kind of recoiled from it — much like people do from Trump,' Sheen said. 'She says, "In their finest moment, this is cheap pewter and bad zirconias." And they're stamped "Trump."'I just thought, what does this really say about the man that he said, "Here's a great wedding gift," and it's just a bag of dog s**t?'

FEMI FALANA CONDEMNS NATIONAL ASSEMBLY PROPOSAL FOR LIFE PENSION AND IMMUNITY

The Executive Director of SERAP (Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project), Adetokunbo Mumuni, has condemn the demands made by some senators for life pension and immunity for presiding officers of the National assembly after their tenure.
According to the statement, the call was made so as to manipulate the use of legislative powers to alter the 1999 Constitution in their own favour, to the detriment of millions Nigerians, economically and socially.

Statement from some men of the National assembly:

Granting senators and representatives immunity and life pensions would neither enhance governance, accountability nor contribute to the betterment of Nigerians.
SERAP is worried that the proposal for life pensions is coming from some ex-governors in the National Assembly that continue to enjoy “pensions” for serving as governors for eight years.
This is a gross injustice and double jeopardy for millions of Nigerian pensioners who continue to be denied the fruit of their labour in old age.
Nigerians will reject any self-serving attempt by the senators and representatives to tear up section 308 of the 1999 Constitution to grant their leaders immunity from prosecution for corruption and money laundering,”

Human Rights Lawyer and activist, Femi Falana (SAN) Condemn the proposition. He said:

The proposals for immunity and life pension for the principal officers of the National Assembly are insensitive, irrational and immoral.
Indeed, it is the height of insensitivity for legislators to propose life pension for their leaders at a time that workers are owed arrears of salaries in many states of the federation.
The proposal to confer immunity on legislators is provocative, to say the least. No serious nation can grant immunity to legislators who have been linked with criminal diversion of public funds, forgery and rape.
We can assure the concerned members of the public that the satanic proposals of the legislators will not succeed. It is pertinent to inform the legislators that the members of the human rights community have resolved to mobilise the Nigerian people to reject both proposals.

FREEZE: BEING A FEMINIST CREATES AN INBALANCE AND DETERS WOMEN OF HAVING A HUSBAND

Speaking in an interview with Genevieve magazine, outspoken Cool FM Lagos OAP, Daddy Freeze, has said that the concept of being a feminist is something that denies many women of having a husband, adding that he'll never marry one of them.
Daddy Freeze thinks feminists find it difficult getting good men and says it create an imbalance that will turn Nigeria into another America where everyone has a mum and no daddy.

Read his full comments on feminism :

"The concept of being a feminist is something that denies many women of having a husband. There are no roles for men and no roles for women. When you get to a situation, your intelligence, experience and your gut feeling should guide you.

"When you find yourself in a situation, you react to it accordingly. If you marry an African man, you should know that you shouldn’t tell him to do the dishes unless he chooses to help you out. I can mention quite a few feminists. Rather I would give a quote from ancient Rome that says, ‘Women rule the world; but not by stomping down their pretty little feet.

"Women that have ruled the world have done so by manipulating men and using what they have to get what they want. Demanding authority doesn’t work. I am not a feminist and would never marry one.

"Women need to be careful not to create an imbalance in the society because it would be at the detriment of their children.

"Let’s be careful not to create an imbalance that will turn Nigeria into another America where everyone has a mum and no daddy."

JAMIE VARDY'S LOOLALIKE TREATED LIKE A CELEBRITY IN FRANCE

The just concluded season was fantastic for Leicester city and England striker Jamie Vardy.
It has been an equally thrilling ride for his doppelganger and idol Lee Chapman - a postman from Leicester - who was given six months unpaid leave from the Royal Mail to pursue his lookalike work.

Mr Chapman happens to be the same age, height and weight as Jamie Vardy and is also in France for the euros
After Vardy came off the bench and scored for England in their last-gasp 2-1 victory against Wales, Mr Chapman was thrown into the air and mobbed by thousands of Three Lions fans.
To the chant 'Vardy's on fire, your defence is terrified' sung to the tune of club classic 'Freed From Desire' by Gala, the postman was soaked in beer by the gleeful travelling fans.

Speaking to MailOnline he said: 'It was overwhelming, absolutely mental. They sung the "Vardy's on fire" song and lifted me in the air.
'No matter where I went in France I was getting stopped by people wanting photos.
'It wasn't just English fans as well, it was foreigners who shouted "Vardy, Vardy" and then wanted a picture which just shows the scale this has gone.'
Asked how he felt when Vardy scored, he replied: 'My Leicester fan came out and I went mental and it meant there was even more of a reaction from the England fans last night.'

DINO MELAYE WANTS STATE OF RESIDENCE TO REPLACE STATE OF ORIGIN

Senator Dino Melaye, Chairman, Senate Committee on Federal Capital Territory, has suggested the replacement of “State of-Origin” with “State-of-Residence”, to enthrone oneness among Nigerians.
Melaye made the call on Friday in Abuja, at a ceremony to unveil the logo/medal of the Peace Corps of Nigeria (PCN) to mark PCN’s 18th year of existence.

According to him, the step will cement relationships among the people and minimise ethnicity. “Ethnic bigotry should be shunned; there should be a replacement of the state-of-origin to unite the country. Any responsible person that has lived in a particular place for a certain number of years can aspire to any political position including that state’s governor seat,” he said.
He, however, called for the “rebirth” of the country, and challenged youths to guard against moral decadence.
Melaye also charged Nigerian youths to maximise their talents so as to contribute to national growth.
The senator called for re-orientation and attitudinal change that would revive Nigeria’s value system, and stressed the need to imbibe a culture of volunteerism.
“There is also the need for the review of the educational system so as to teach more morals, values and culture with a view to building falling walls,” Melaye said.
He assured the PCN that the bill for its ratification will pass the third reading at the National Assembly.
The PCN Commandant, Dickson Akoh, commended the House of Representatives for recently passing the bill for an Act to establish the PCN.
“This all-important achievement alone calls for celebration as the PCN reaches 18. It is in view of that remarkable stride that we resolved to commemorate this year’s anniversary. This may be the last anniversary we will be celebrating as a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) as we are in the process of transforming into a government establishment,” Akoh said.
The Director-General, National Orientation Agency, Garba Abari, also acknowledged that PCN had worked and toiled toward resolving conflicts, peace building and engaging youths to divert their attention from violence.
Abari called on Nigerians to believe in the aims and objectives of PCN as the body had remained consistent in the training, educating and re-orientation of Nigerian youths on the ideals of good leadership and what was expected of them.

APOSTLE JOHN SULEIMAN SAID NIGERIANS APPOINTED BUHARI AND NOT GOD!

General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministry (OFM), Apostle Johnson Suleiman, in an interview with Encomium, the preacher said that President Muhammadu Buhari was not God’s choice for  this Nation.
The man-of-God also noted that God is not happy with President Buhari, added that there is no hope in this present administration, except on God.

“Nigerians chose Buhari and not God. Let me tell you this, at times, God can allow you choose what you want. Your child screams ‘I want ice cream’; out of pressure, you may give him. You may have even warned him that it will cause diabetes but he won’t listen.

“Buhari is the sugar Nigerians have taken and now we have become a country that is diabetic. You won’t understand my pain.

“Is it that when people were stealing money things were good and now we are recovering and things are bad? I don’t understand the irony of the whole thing.

“I can say it again, there is no hope in this government except on God. I heard the Minister of Labour and productivity, Chris Ngige said that Nigerians should be patient for the future, can I ask? Is it a man who is dying of hunger, starving that will see the future?

“By the end of the year, by the grace of God, God will be speaking to us concerning the New Year and if there is going to be change, we shall let you know. But like I said, the immediate problems are what we are handling now, and we need to pray because when we talk about austerity, poverty and those travelling for business meetings in China and the rest of them, can I shock you? They will disappoint him.

“It would have been better he looks at the challenges of Nigerians, and use the money being wasted to solve them.

“The truth is this; God will not forgive the present leadership because Nigerians trusted them. Nigerians hoped on them and there is nothing as painful as hope dashed.

“In the time of Goodluck Jonathan, nobody abused him because they didn’t have hope in him, but today, people look at Buhari and they shake their head because they don’t even know what to say to him.

“Recently, I learnt that even the Northerners, his own people don’t want to hear anyone mention his name around them. I see his ministers resigning, and this will be as a result of frustration,” the apostle added.
