The National Industrial Court has
stopped the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC) from going on
with their planned national strike.
Ruling today, on an exparte application filed by Abubakar Malami, the attorney-general of the federation (AGF), Adejumo ordered parties to maintain the status quo until the hearing and determination of the exparte motion.
He also directed the government to dialogue with the NLC towards an amicable resolution of their dispute.
President of the court, Babatunde Adejumo gave the order to stop the proposed strike on Tuesday, May 17 as FG and labour leaders continue to meet over reduction in fuel pump price.
The case was adjourned to May 24 for hearing of the motion on notice.
